Quote: Why? I like the .308 for obvious reasons but i'm wondering why you like the .308 more? What do you really want out of your next weapon besides killing zombies?

My point is your current options for the .308 aren't known as tack drivers when compared to all the other rifles that offer the .308. And based on your zombie answer i'm assuming you want to have fun with it, right? You can do this just fine with a .223 and spend less per round.
That's exactly what I'm looking to get out of my Kel-Tec -----> Cheap Fun!

I know, but honestly, it's because my friends really got me hooked on the M1A. I like it, I'm familiar with it... I guess that's it. I don't know. It's just feel. I like the feel of .308 better than .223. More... direct.

There are lots of choices in .308. I just like the M1A. I'm not going for competition or anything.

I don't know. I still haven't come close to deciding.

Does it have to be Semi auto? Why not go for a 700 action whatever in .308 and put all the bells and whistles on it?

Now you're talking. Great brush gun, fun to shoot, and inexpensive.

have you looked into a Hi-Point?
i know they're cheap, but i have a few freinds that have them for simple target pistols and have nothing but good to say about them.
yea, they're no S&W, or SIG but to be honest, its just a cheap light pistol that performs well.

the only people i have heard that have bad feedback are the ones who have never owned a Hi-Point for themselves.

i have a few pistols and rifles including a SKS.
i am thinking of getting the compact Hi-point .380 to put rounds thru just for the fun of it. cus all my guns are family heirlooms and i don't like using them too much.
and a decent pistol for under $150-$100 isn't a bad deal.

I went down to River City on my "lunch" break and ordered the Kel-Tec SU-16CA. They already had two on order so it should be in before my 10 day waiting period is up.

I smell a range meet coming up!

Higher than what I wanted, but the CA model is in short supply. They have a B model in stock that they would deal on.

Nosy country boys.

Just for plinking at the range. It's as close to an assault rifle as you can get in this commie state.

There's a reason so many members of 1st SFOD (Delta Force) carry the M1A. Great knockdown power, totally capable in close-quarters and the potential to reach out and touch if it must. The only complaint that I've heard is that compared to an M4 it's weight can get old in the field. If you don't already have an M4 in your collection start with it. Probably my favorite all around weapon.
