So My Wife and I moved up to Elk Grove from the Bay Area and it seems like every 3 to 4 weeks I am getting pulled over. I NEVER got pulled over in the Bay but now its like this. I have a cop magnate for an exhaust (HKS Carbon-Ti) I am looking to switch it out for maybe a Borla Hush or something similar. What are your guys thoughts and how many times have you gotten pulled over?

 

Well your first mistake was moving to EG.

 

i have been pulled over 20 times in the last 7 months, they could only justify a ticket one of those times. That shows how pull over hungry they are of our cars.

 

I moved to South Sac a couple of years ago, haven't had a run in with a cop, but I don't have the "pull me over exhaust" either. Borla Hush all the way.

I got pulled over a lot more times in the bay than up here so far =P.

 

When i was living in elk grove i never got pulled over. I had a BLITZ FMIC ( BRIGHT and clean) loud *** hks bov,(people will tell you how loud and kick *** my zoidberg bov sounded) haha vf39 full catless exhaust turbo XS exhaust and ricer gauge pillar. I ran loud but i did keep my front plate on at all times. I remember one time in elk grove at a stoplight a cop pulled next to my car and started checking out my car. ( i had some i-club and local tuner stickers on the windows) saw the front mount while looking for a front plate. Saw the plate and moved on. I never run hard on the streets and ship at low RPM's. Keep that front plate on so you don't give them an excuse to look at you.
Oh and I'm brown too.

 

I'm stock, living in Rancho Cordova, and never have had a problem...

 

since i got the si with blacked out windows and no plate never yet.
but when i had the suby always and i had the plate on that too with a loud helix titanium cb

 

I've been pulled over more times in the bay area than around here. Then again, i've only lived here since September.

 

About a year ago I was getting pulled over often. California had a huge spurt in police activity with modified cars and how found myself being profiled all of the time. It's really calmed down lately.

 

I have no front mount, no bov and my front plate is on at all times. I also "granny shift". I do have a carbon fiber hood and my back windows have limo tint. Im gonna keep a copy of this ticket once I get it signed off and maybe tape it to my window so maybe they will leave me alone. Also Paul from DB Tuned gave me some great advice so Ill be doing that too.

 

Just going to wash my car today (less than a mile from my place) I got the long "hmmmm..... should I?" stare from 3 different cops but I had both plates on, shifted low and didn't give them any reason to bother me.

 

I go up to Elk Grove probably once a month and stay for a weekend I don't get hassled. Then again I just drive straight to my cousins house and I don't really go out.

When I was driving my civic up there I didn't get hassled.

I've lived in Elk Grove for 6 years now. I've never been pulled over here.

Slammed turbo civic with front mount and BOV and tint.
Loud exhaust on a mercedes with tint and no front plate.
STi with stock wing, catless Nvidia N1 exhaust, coil overs, sidemarkers.

I don't have tint on the STi, I run a front plate. I don't drive like an ***. I'm constantly on the lookout for cops. I like to think I spot them before they do me. I play it cool when they are rolling next to me. Don't start looking all nervous when they are behind you. Don't check the mirror a thousand times. Move your eyes not your head while you have sunglasses on. Also I do not speed in town. The open country roads yes. Old elk grove, NO. 25 exactly with traffic piled up behind.
Practice lane disciplen. Use your signals. Don't change lanes every 16 feet. Don't tailgate. Drive like Ghandi. Passive agressive is more fun. Box people in without being obvious about it.

I've been pulled over plenty of times. But it's been almost exclusivly for speeding and by CHP.

Any of the new cities will pull you over for no reason, EG, rancho, citrus heights. etc. they all need money

 

I've been in EG as long as Dan. No front plate, tinted. I've never gotten pulled inside town.
