That's unusual. TireRack normally won't recommend a tire that is taller than stock for several reasons. I take it the person you talked to wasn't Dexter or Luke. I had a n00b sell me some tires once that Dexter told me they shouldn't have. Shhh....

I was being an ***, but I do run the 255's on the track. 255/40 Yokohama A032R on 17x8 Rota Torques +48ET, on an 04 STi w/ KW Variant 3 Coilovers.

I'm using those same tires in a 235/40 size. They are great and wear really well for r-compound. That is why I was asking as I could get that size for just $14 more each.

I should also note that I'm running -2.5 up front and -1.5 in the rear.
