Yes. I don't stab the brakes every time I get a significant RADAR alert. Even if it might help avoid getting caught speeding. I feel that it draws too much attention to an otherwise attention getting vehicle.
It won't do me much good to subtly change lanes and speed if the officer is going the other way on the freeway. I just keep charging on.
V1 is a tool to assist in locating Smokey. I'm more concerned about my exhaust than my speed.

I'm curious. You blame the cops for doing there job, but after being pulled over time #7 for having the license plate light out.....why didn't you fix it? You can't blame the cops...

Heading back to the shop today...WB Taylor Rd...I get the "Oh ****!!!" laser warning for a brief second.
My speed was fine, so I did not panic.
A half mile up the road was a lone Roseville PD motorbike officer generating some revenue.

If you had 1/2 mile you were picking up scatter. The best laser chirp is the one that goes on and shuts off quickly. That's usually scatter. I hate it when they lock on the the damn detector just screams. It's the most annoying sound of the bunch too. The cop was a moron if he was shooting you from that far. Hell he could have been picking up speeds from the Mars rover at that distance.

ive come to find that if you are a flaming d-bag and curse up a strom, cops a usually pretty cool and wont ding you a ever little thing (that statement could be taken right back if the cop is just in a pissy mood tho

Scatter from his gun or another source?
My point was that I drive this road every day and know where Roseville & Rocklin PD cops lay in wait.
This was the first time in almost three years of driving this road that I got a laser hit.

[QUOTE=Mr. Xevious;2258003]what are you pointing to ?
i thought i was going to make the last quote on pg 2.. didnt pay too much attention to post count oops
is your friend
From his gun. The IR beam is far too wide at distances over 1000ft. The beam does scatter and reflect off surfaces. He very possibly could have been shooting at you from that distance. It wouldn't have been worth his effort. 1000ft is their cut off, anything greater and there's your grounds to fight if ticketed. When it comes to laser detection scatter is you best friend.
