stick an ej22 shortblock into the ej25, boost away.

WRX Exhaust Manifold
some decent manifold gasket
random Uppipe
TD04 off WRX
some Downpipe
Greddy Emanage (with injector harness, etc) [could use something else, this just an easy solution]
No name boost gauge
wrx TMIC (would that fit up to a legacy hood?)
Tap the oilpan for the return line

im sure im missing some stuff but ath should be a pretty good outline.

this is kinda what i want to do to my gc (that doesnt exist)

No reason to turbo this car. It's my commuter. I'm buying an STi. Plus, as stated above, I have to smog the car by the end of January. No homebrew turbos allowed. I could have done this at any point, I had all the stuff for the swap, the timing just wasn't right.

is the JDM block itself smogable? i know a bunch of honda guys who have had trouble smogging their JDM B18C motors even though they're essentially the same thing as the USDM ones.

is there anything special about the JDM EJ25 motor itself apart from being JDM?

Not particularly. Heads have all the same ports, block has the same code on it. Internals are 99% identical. Most of the emissions and vacuum stuff is on the manfold anyways, which is my stock USDM piece.

Aaron I can't tell. Are you BUYING AN STI ALREADY, THUS YOU HAVE NO REASON OR DESIRE TO TURBO YOUR OUTBACK?

God damn you guys, dude is just getting his commuter car working, he's not going to spend a ton of time and work to turbocharge it when he's buyin an STI anyway.

***. :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the assist, Matt.

Why is it so hard to understand that I'm keeping the thing NA? It's worked for me for a QUARTER OF A MILLION MILES. I think I'll be just fine
