I prefer redline also, it's been the superior product for awhile now, also Royal Purple...

ummm, I still would not recommend going 10k miles on the same filter... If you are going to go that long on the same oil, please atleast change your filter :ywia:

I'll continue to change mine every 3k

Buy mobil one from walmart in the 5qt jugs, its a lot cheaper than buying 1qt's from the autoparts store.

I like the peace of mind from knowing that my oil can handle more heat than the rest of my engine, hence the redline. Seeing 240 degrees on my oil in a stock NA 4 cylinder engine really opened my eyes. Dino would not have held up.

Price out a Mobil 1 oil filter lately? $35 is about right for the jug ($22.50 or so) and filter plus tax.

yup mobil filters are $10-$12... try pureone filters from napa, they are supposed to be as good as anything & they're cheaper, $7-$8 i believe... thats what ive been using for my bike.

Seriously, check them out. If you are lazy like me, and don't want to run a remote oil filter, you can just get one of their spin on filter housings and the replacement elements are like $10 from Pegasus.

Like I said, my oil comes out clean.

I used to run CM filters, but I have the giant spin-on one which doesn't fit well on the legacy and other turbo subarus due to the oil cooler. I need to get the shorter version. CM filters are great though.

I don't have an oil temp sensor so I won't ever have that problem. ignorance is bliss.

I looked. Not sure I want to spend $100 on a filter housing, when I think the OEM filters are good enough. Maybe if I ever get around to spending real money on a strong engine it will seem more reasonable.
