i am looking for neighborhoods with these certain aspects so i could try to find homes that are around that area. more particular a house that needs a lot of work one or wwo streets over so i can get into the area for a little less initial $ but still be an a ok area where prices roll into the outter areas.
thanks for all the help guys, it will be helpful, any bit of info is good.

as of right now that is still up in the air. there is a good chance i will be working in roseville, but that is still up in the air. my main goal is to do financial planning. (if you know of any companies that have positions available in this field i could talk to that would be great too.)
hahaha, this seems to be a "help keegan get his life started after he graduates" thread. getting tossed out into the real world is a quick and brutal transition.
I appreciate all the help guys.

I lived in Sac for 5 yrs. before moving to San Jose. I had a duplex in Greenhaven, and I strongly recommend that area. It is true that if you go to the other side of I5, it becomes hood real quick, but Greenhaven is an established neighborhood, as opposed to Natomas and Elk Grove, which are mostly new development. Look for a place off of Havenside, or maybe Pocket Rd. Some nice houses can be had there, if you have the money.

greenhaven is a nice area, but like you said when you cross over the 5 onto freeport and florin and etc, stuff gets really scary really quick.

I wouldn't go to elk grove cause it is getting too big way too fast, especially since most of the older roads need widening to accomodate so many of the people migrating over there. Just take a look at the growth on laguna blvd. I would go to a neighborhood that is a little older and established like east sac.

pretty much anything in roseville, folsom (highly recomended), orangevale, fairoaks, rocklin, and some of citrus heights would be good. ive lived in orangevale all my life and i love it. i work in folsom and its a very, very nice city but kind of expensive.
