It's Wednesday, My Dudes!
I will admit that I occasionally have reservations about my Prodrive on the Fozz (which is made by AEM) just like my Injen on the STI - but that's purely because it's a low-mount passenger side intake and I worry that my love of splashing through puddles in every other car I own will catch me out in a painful manner if I forget and go nuts in heavy rain - but as long as you avoid pools of standing water (which you should be doing anyways in a lowered car)
Hey. **** you. This time, no one gave me advice to disregard.
**** you.
Ultimately, performance is moot. I don't think I will be making enough power to even exceed the stock intake.
Outside of that, it seems that the Cobb will make more noise than the AEM, which I like. I also like having the box and snorkel deal. If I were to put the AEM on, I would want to paint it black.
Not worried about the water. But as I think about it more. I suspect that a cone could ruin my day.

I ran the grimmspeed intake on my old spec.B, which sounds like it's similar to the AEM, and the IAT's at speed were a few degrees below the stock air box and snorkus. I also noticed it drop to near ambient temperatures faster than the stock setup. Was it worth it for the power gain? Nope I would have been much better served getting a VF52.

Might as well go for the other that it more pleasing with looks and sound.
Because work is boring.

jQQ, y u so ignit?
in fact, when pushed to the absolute flow limit, the sf will support more power before pegging the voltage CEL. 600whp worth of flow, actually. BTDT. The aem beats it overall in almost all situations though.
wait nvm I'm dropping real info/knowledge and not how pretty things look, ignore me.

IAT's at cruise with the CAI are 2-3 degrees above ambient. With the stock box I was seeing 10 degrees differential or more most of the time, and the time-to-ambient (or steady state at cruise) was way, way longer with a stock/engine bay-sourced setup. I played with a few different feed setups on the STi and didn't note a huge difference, the stock covers did a pretty good job of routing air, and on the Fozz air is pulled from around the fog in a similar way.
What are your IAT's at cruise/speed? How high do they hit in traffic?
