stupid deer
I swear they are just like drunk frat boys, and they dare each other to try and make people crash by jumping out in front of them.

That's one thing I always feared when I had all that work up in Ft. Bragg and I drove there at night, some big ole dear jumping out and killing me. Its crazy that you hit it going that fast and it didn't total out your car, glad you're o.k., sorry about the car

It's all about the position of the deer at the point of impact. I was lucky in that mine was traveling across the road and had just jumped when I hit it. It flew up and corkscrewed off the road :\

Other than that frame in front of the radiator, I think it's all relatively easy to replace. It really could have been 100X worse. We were able to keep driving out to Jenner and still enjoy the rest of the weekend. I even blasted home on Skaggs Rd. from HWY1 to Healdsburg for some wine tasting. 44 miles of twisties pretty much guarantees there aren't any handling problems associated with my run-in.

Woohoo - insurance is filing this as comp which means no fault and no impact to my rates. It also means $250 deductible which is a lot better than $500.
