Unhappy I scared the crap out of a deer this weekend...

...

literally:

Yes, that brown crap all over the front grill and hood is indeed crap. This bastard jumped out from the side of the road right in front of me. All I saw was his butt in front of the car and all I had time to do was let off the gas. I heard a double tap.

Apparently I knocked his hind legs out from under him and his fat *** fell onto the hood, crushing the grill in the process. I saw him spin off to the left, but I don't know if it was the force of the impact or if he hopped out of the way. I never stopped, and barely even slowed down. I must have hit him doing somewhere between 50 and 60 MPH. It was pitch black dark out and I had traffic in front of me and in the oncoming lanes, so I really could not have done anything other than hit him.

I am damn lucky he didn't come into the windshield. I'm also damn lucky he didn't damage the radiator or oil cooler or I would have been stuck somewhere between Petaluma and Bodega Bay.

I was hoping that all I would need is a new hood, grill, and passenger fog light cover. The bumper looks absolutely fine other than some crap on it and a couple of scratches. But when I got home and popped the hood (I didn't pop it out there for fear of not being able to close it again), it looks like there might be some damage to the front framework above the radiator. And my poor Duffguards Radiator Shroud is toast.

You probably don't know me well, but I was the guy admiring your Autometer gauge pod the last time you were in Natomas. Anyhow, I would just like to let you know I feel for you, man. Sorry to hear that you couldn't make it out to the track, I know you were really looking forward to it.
