Does WindowsXP have different networks profiles available for different locations? Otherwise hardsetting your IP at work address (10.x.x.x for Kevin) and then switching back to DHCP (or even hardsetting on other 192.168.x.x networks) would become a pain in the ****.

Well, you'll have to manually switch back and forth every time you physically move to a new location.

Well sort of. They have this option called "alt ip address" (don't quote me on the name) It's in the network settings. It's to tell the computer "well if the hard coded Ip address is not working, try this one."

Something to managed hard coded IP address is possible with the help of 3rd party software.

EDIT: Something like this

So, in other words Kevin, if you're not absorbing any of this, come over sometime tonight and I'll try to help you.

call tech support, they can help

1-866-229-3239 Option 4

when they tell you they are not the right company to call, argue and ask to speak to a supervisor because they are giving crappy service, then ask to be transfered to Aaron Stanley, as he is your Personal Technical Assistant

Okay, but first let's hold a charity auction for who gets our cars when Aaron kills us both.
