He's only 8 months old though (Jake, the golden, is about 14 months) so maybe they will get a little wiser as they get older.
well....its easier to train them young, and teach them what to and not to do.

I have a hybrid, He's a handful(READ:WAS)....FOR SURE.

You've seen him Kevin, as have most of the others that know me. I spent 8weeks constantly training him, not letting him think anything I didn't tell him to think.

As Paul said, dogs are only as smart as their masters (not a personal attack, but as most kids don't have manners...its because of their parents). Train the dog not to destroy the house....he won't destroy the house. "Crate Training" doesn't mean to leave the dog in allllllllllll day. Might I suggest a few doggy/master training classes? Maybe a behavior class?

The only reason Money is trained, is because...constantly...he gets told what he's allowed to do...and what he's not allowed to do.

Sure, he'll shred a bed/grab something he shouldn't....but, I can't blame him... hes got the ring leader (~8lb Papillion) "telling him/Lamp" to give their sacrifices to her all mighty self.

/my 2cents&dog rant.

Mind you...the only reason I have this view, is because I was told that he wouldn't be able to be worked with, that he would have to be returned to the pound/etc etc etc etc etc. 5yrs later....

interesting...

One Khlyst practice was known as "rejoicing" (радение), a ritual which sought to overcome human sexual urges by engaging in group sexual activities so that, in consciously sinning together, the sin's power over the human was nullified.
So, orgies prevent sin.

Ooh,

I get it. Sinning is the path to divinity.

The idea that one can attain grace through correction of sin is not unique; it is understood that sin is an inescapable part of the human condition, and the responsibility of a believer is to be keenly aware of his sins and be willing to confess them, thereby attaining humility.

I'm definitely not offended by either your stsatements or Paul's regarding dog training. I am more to blame for my boys' behavior than they are. Someone who knows more than I do about dog training (and had more time and determination) wouldn't be complaining about either of them. And honestly, they are pretty good dogs. Both were housebroken fairly easily. They learned quickly not to chew on certain things but they could go to town on things I gave to them directly. Their negative behavior all boils down to them not liking to be alone. Both had severe seperation anxiety as puppies. In fact, JD was returned to the shelter at 6 months because after eating his previous owners' couch, they crated him and he howled all day. Neighbors complained, so he had to go. He still can't really be trusted in my room for more than a couple hours but having both of them together has helped tremendously. Since the weather turned nice they've been in a dog run on the side of the house and everything's kosher when they're in there. They dig sometimes but it's all gravel and I can fill it in with 10 minutes' work so no biggie. Really the only "problems" they still have left is for stuff they do when I'm not around to catch them- digging, chewing the landscaping. I honestly don't think Jake really gets what he's being punished for when I drag him over to a fresh hole or a punctured sprinkler line, so he doesn't connect it to the behavior the next time he does it. That, and he has zero impulse control.

Anyway, I haven't tried to make excuses for them or deny that I'm responsible for them. I'm just annoyed that it appears I may not even get the chance to make amends for what's happened and be forced to go through the gigantic hassle of finding a house on short notice when I have 2 large dogs.
