1) can you get comcast in your area ?
if you can, threaten to cancel and go with cable (or even another ISP if available). The first minion you talk to wont care, but when you go to the next person to verify the cancellation, they will usually bend over backwards to keep you as a customer

just lame, cus once you get 3-4 people on the network things start bogging.
plus it interferes with my internet radio!
