Hotels in Sacramento
Hi all, my family is coming up to see me next weekend and we are looking for a nice hotel for us to stay in. I currently living in a place where I cant have over night guests so staying here is not an option. It will be my 3 kids my girlfriend and myself. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with good hotels with suites in the area. I have looked at embassy suites and they are booked up for next weekend. I found a room at double tree that appears to be a two room so we can put the older of the two kids in the front room. Does anyone have any experience staying there or have any other recommendations on where to stay. Price is not super important but the cheaper the room the more we will be able to do when they are here. Thank you all in advance.

My kids got some free tickets for six flags so we are wanting to check that out but I don't see us wanting to stay out there. But besides that we are open for anything. I have only been here for 3 weeks so I am not to sure about where we want or do not want to see. I drove down town one day and discovered the state capital by mistake. Besides that I have been in and around the Natomas area is all. Thanks again for any info. V

The Embassy Suites next to the Tower Bridge (100 Capitol Mall) is a nice hotel at a great location. Walking distance to most of Downtown, Old Sac and Raley Field.
The Hilton Garden Inn Sacramento (2540 Venture Oaks Way) and the Staybridge Suites (140 Promenade Cir) are nice places that are close to downtown.
The Double Tree near Arden Mall (2001 Point West Way) is a nice place and is very central to just about everything in the greater Sacramento area.
If location isn't a big deal and you don't mind driving everywhere, the Fairfield Inn (2730 El Centro Rd) near W El Camino is a nice place with reasonable prices (from what I hear), but isn't really near anything.
Other places to look would be the Holiday Inn Express (2761 Evergreen Ave) and the Ramada (1250 Halyard Dr) in West Sacramento.
As a general rule of thumb, stay with larger hotel chain places and avoid motels. Motels in the Sacramento area, while relatively inexpensive, tend to appear on COPS frequently.

Thanks for the info. We are looking at the double tree because it is in the central part of town.
