Recomendations for INN's/Hotels off of hwy 1 in the monterey'ish area.

Me and the g/f are planning a drive on 1 to the monterey and staying the july 4th weekend. We are looking for a cool/nice/relaxing hotel or inn to stay at the for the weekend. Does anybody have any recomendations for places to stay in the area/places to go/stuff to do?
Also, if you have any better recomendations as to places to go, feel free to voice your opinion.

My favorite hotel in Monterey has always been Monterey Plaza: http://www.woodsidehotels.com/monterey/monte_home.htm Before you call them for reservations, register as a preferred club member (for free), and get some freebies: http://www.woodsidehotels.com/monter..._preferred.htm Their spa services are really good too.

When my wife and I go there, we are either going to an event at Laguna Seca or just hanging out. If you are into fine dining, try the Duck Club at the hotel or Fresh Cream: http://www.freshcream.com/

Have a great time!

My favorite place in Monterey is the Marina Dunes Resort. Probably expensive this time of year, but the Deluxe Ocean View rooms are nice. They are like bungalows set out in the dunes and they give you a golf cart to get around. Very nice if you're with a significant other.

Thumbs up

My favorite hotel in Monterey is also Monterey Plaza!!
It is a pricy hotel (about $160 to $250 a night) , but i think it worth every pennies, plus ur gf would love it.
Also, try the restaurant called Duck Club inside the hotel.
Have Fun!!

the dunes are sweet man. Good call right there.

I don't know what to tell you though> I'd have to guess that the places like that would be all booked up for that weekend already...sept maybe the big pimpin sweets.

I stayed at this place right on the water a few months back. It was great. Can't remember the name of the place...sorry. Got pictures though... was awesome. I referred a couple friends there and they loved it too. Think it might have been the plaza.

Good luck finding a place. Might consider staying out of monterey. Grab a bed and breakfast somewhere close. Tons of them on the coast out there.

Plus one for the Marina Dunes. Love the golf carts and the jacuzzi on the balcony. Lush!
