Gruppe-S, how could you!
RE the "Made in China" wing. I have one of them that I bought second hand. The leading edge is splitting ever so slowly apart.
I'd definately go with the new and improved one, and at $220, that's a great price! Unless I'm Soggynoodles, in which case I'd stay away from the STi replica wing all together because my car is starting to look too much like sperry's... (1st my wheels, and now my wing!?

That being said, he did make a mistake on the pricing, without realizing that our normal retail price is more than double the advertised price, $375 shipped.
As you know, many times mistakes can and will be made in any business. There have been several instances where I personally have copied and pasted pricing from other locations, only to have gauges be advertised at $2500 or full coilover setups at $150. Most of the time, I would get a reply and a wink, noting that our price was wrong.
I understand that you guys have called to confirm the price, but please try to remember, Preston was working off bad initial information, thus was not able to give you guys an accurate price.
That being said, I am willing to meet you guys half-way on the already at cost "I'm sorry" discounted price of $300 (versus $375). If you guys can accept $220 for the spoiler, we are willing to take an $80 loss on this item to make you guys happy. We unfortunately cannot take a $160 per wing loss on this item, and I'm sorry for this.
Guys, please try to keep in mind that we are not a company profiting millions of dollars, and cannot afford to take millions of dollars, or even thousands of dollars in losses. Like you guys, we are simply Subaru and Mitsubishi enthusiasts that started a business to support our interests. We started this company with the goal of providing our customers with the best possible products at the best possible prices, and we are trying our very best to meet this goal, but mistakes will invariably happen.
Again, I'm very sorry about this situation, and I will do everything within reason to try to make things right. If you guys are willing to take me up on my offer, please let me know.
Thank you and sorry.

Thanks for trying to sort this out. I don't want to speak for the other guys here, but I think I'm gonna pass on this one. I just have my mind wrapped around the $140 number and can't get past it. I realize that $220 is a GREAT price and I appreciate you making a compromise and offering to taking a hit on this deal.
I feel kinda silly for passing this deal up, but I just want to get it behind me.
I just wanted to say that I have had nothing but awesome experience dealing with you guys in the past, and have no doubt I will deal with you again in the future.
It's unfortunate there was a misunderstanding this time.

I agree with what ryball said. That number is imbedded in my brain. When I close my eyes I see $140.

I know it's a good deal but I really have to think this one through.

We will see how this plays out, but it sounds like mainly a big mix up, and they are trying to fix it w/o losing more money than they have to/or doing worse ethics than already done.
Hi guys,
I'm very sorry I wasn't able to meet your guys' expectations in regards to the price on the wings.
If you guys ever need anything please let me know personally (remind me) and I will give you guys the best possible price on whatever you need.
Once again sorry about the whole situation, and thanks for understanding.

I read this and all the other threads as well as one thousands PM's and e-mails I got today re: this issue.
When I saw that the price was $140, I knew it was a mistake. There is no way even a replica carbon fiber wing would cost that much. I understand that some people wanted to use that mistake to their own advantage. If it worked, more power to you. If it did not, oh well.
Many many times at car dealers' lots the huge price stickers fly off the cars. So, you can see barely used cars prices being in the 3-digit numbers. You cannot expect to be able to walk in there and try to buy a (for example) a 1999 Honda Accord for $895 if the first digit "9" flew away. Right? I mean once again, you can try, but I doubt it will work.
This situation is the same. On top of it, as Gary mentioned, Preston was going off the wrong price to begin with. That is why he "confirmed" it in the PMs. It was a mistake. $140 for a brand new wing? That just doesn't happen. Just like $895 1999 Accords.
And, we all know Gruppe-s. They have some of the best prices on parts as well as service around here. And, to be trying to pull a quick one on them is wrong, IMHO. They have always treated everyone around here very good and I think they deserve to be given a break if they made pricing mistake, admited it, appologized for it and tried to make it up.
I think this is only fair...

^agree. i have never had a problem with them, i've purchased ALOT thru gruppe-s,always had the best price, and they are good guys. typo's happen. i will continue buisness with them for a long time
Alex,
Let me first say that I am over this. There was a mistake made, appologies were given, end of story. If these comments were not directed toward me then, please disregard.
I have never had a problem with gruppe-s or you, but I resent the fact that you said that I was trying to take advantage of them.
I sent them an email in which I stated that I passed on this deal because I did not want a local shop taking a loss for a mistake. Not because I was pissed and demanded the $140 price.
I did not try to "pull a quick one". I got a quote in email, a quote in PM's, and a quote over the phone. That's three quotes total all at the same price.
I should have known that it was the wrong price, but I assumed after asking "are you sure?" that it was in fact correct.
I don't blame Preston. He had the wrong info. I was just upset at the time.
I said earlier in this thread:
I don't see how that is "trying to take advantage" or "trying to pull a fast one"...
