Yeah, I'm happy I'm ok as well, more bummed every time I look at the pictures :/ the shop will have his initial estimate tomorrow, then it's up to Geico on the call. I'm rocking a Mazda 3 for the near future.
And you tellin me icy hot and ibuprofen isn't enough? It's a small tightness, like when you sleep on a bad hotel pillow.

Items needing replacement:
all 4 pieces of frame rail front/rear
rear floor pan
all front lights
all front fenders/supports/bumpers/absorbers/etc
rear hatch/bumper/support/quarter panel
I have the 4 page report, now it's in Geico's hands, but based on materials/paint/labor, this thing is toast.

Perhaps but if it's damaged it's better to know, right?
Went by after work to try and remove the AP tune, saw the details regarding the rear floor being crinkled, radiator/fan's are pushed into the cam cover, driver side is split open and all I saw is the gear. Also the motor is no longer square in the engine bay, it's at an angle (plenty of ground visable on one side, none on the other), and plenty of rigid mounts are snapped (plastic airbox feet were one easy to see item).
I'm sad to lose this car I searched all over for.
Also if I got something pulled over my eyes I'm not happy, but I would never want that doubt in the back of my head that it was unsafe on a road trip or if my other half took it for a weekend away.
If bank value is 10k, and they'll accept 7k in repairs, then it was no where close to that even using "used" parts and cheap paint.
Like I said, I'm no body repair guy, just working off what I can.
Now the crunch to find a new car asap.

I actually found an 04 FXT 5spd for sale in Roseville, think it was Champagne paint and tan interior. Same lot had a black Baja Turbo......
I bought a high mpg family car this weekend, it won't be until next year that I can be in the market for a fun car again feels like the car enthusiast side of me died last week.

Lol, no, I'm alright w/ it. It's not a Prius. It's a Chevy Cruz, the train of logic went:
5-10k for a used car w/ miles and/or no warranty
12-13k for a brand new sub compact w/ 0 miles and full warranty + great milage (ie Spark/Fiesta/Mazda2/etc)
14-16k for a brand new small coupe (w/ 0 miles and full warranty + great milage ) or a barely used import (ie Civic/Corolla)
Or for a few more bucks, a slightly larger body (w/ 0 miles and full warranty + great milage) that felt more road worthy.
(and 15 was really my ceiling, so anything above that was pushing it hard, once you add gap/taxes/etc the sticker price hikes up a few more K)
The reality that me and her need 1 car that is very reliable and gets great economy is a true thing, I'm hoping next year to pick up a 3-4K "fun" car
And @i<3dirt, I'll just ride w/ you guys next time and be your secondary photographer for those big puddles

I will never call this the perfect car, but it fills a need right now. Wish I didn't see career changes on my horizon or I would've coughed up the needed scratch to pick up an impreza or outback, sigh. I'll still come hang out though, I've met some cool people
