Well, I hope I didn't kill her, after having the taste it's not going to be easy to find another XT w/ a manual.
As for damage, I realize I did not open the hood, so I don't know what the bay looked like. Here's a side shot:
Attachment 79172
It didn't look horribly pushed in, but, who knows.

And @Heedz, that super sucks, sorry for your recent loss as well.
Since I'm not playing with a pocket full of cash, it may be pretty much impossible for me to buy back the salvage title (if it goes that route), I am under the impression banks don't do that really.

Never lifted. It's just how the car is set up suspension wise. I was on throttle the whole time to try to let it slide out.

I have WRX suspension in my recently acquired FXT. Handles pretty decent, it came with it. Handles like my WRX for sure. The LGT wagon handles best so far, WRB paintwork for the Forester as soon as my wide body GC sedan is done. Yup, bit of a obsession. Haha. Hope the Forester is handled right by insurance.

They asked for permission to do a disassemble to get the most accurate information, seeing that if want everything right, I said yes.
(This is my first time dealing with this, hope I'm not being overly paranoid or missing something.)

Just spent a few hours looking at the car market, both in general, and on various forums. Didn't see much if any in regards to my car, makes me even more aware of the uniqueness and I really want it back!

I got a hunch
So our cars with that stock fxt suspension + high center of gravity + soft rear sway bar = a lot of body roll.
Now your tires, they're very tall (juicy cream filled doughnut-like) and rims are very narrow. (Ours rims are 6.5 wide). So when you corner to the left, the body sways to the right...this puts a good amount of stress on the very outside of the passenger tire. (Now just imagine If you wanna get spirited and utilize some of that torque while your cornering.)
I don't know what condition the front tires were in or how often you made sure your tires were at good pressure.
Then you mentioned you got your tires rotated at the dealership..they probably added some air too. So on that curve when you lost control...your back wheel (that formally used to be your front wheel with wear on it) made contact with a little water with no tread...
Now I know you don't drive like a maniac, but probably drive happily spirited sometimes. I do too and I noticed that my front wheels have seriously worn compared to the back ones.
Hopefully this all kinda makes sense
There's a bunch of little factors; coulda been oil on the ground, tire condition, pressure, banana peels
