I never understood this until I rode in a NSX, it's recommended that you double clutch that car when upshifting. I still don't quite get it...

EDIT: Not saying that you would on an eclipse though... That's just retarded.

it's cus the stock clutch system sucks it!
besides the OE unit that weighs a TON, they have an inline fluid "damper" that is supposed to "absorb" all the vibration/feedback from the clutch engaging but what it really leaves you with is a soggy feeling clutch pedal that is slow to react.

replace the fluid damper and swap out the clutch/flywheel/pp and there is NO NEED to double clutch the thing.
matter of fact, i LOVE the way the clutch feels w/o the inline damper on it.
it removes the vegue engagement point and lets you get used to an EXACT engagement point every time. gives you a whole lot more comfort once you get a rhythm down when heel-toe downshifting.
