My 28 minutes was calculated using a chord length connecting Australia and England since they aren't antipodes as depicted in the movie (yet another flaw).

Wolfram's derivations were using radius-dependent density, but a simplified 3 layer model whereas I treated the radius-dependent density as a polynomial. I got 42 minutes, they got 46 minutes. *THAT* is close. They address antipodes, but instead of factoring it in they kinda run for the door and start talking about the curved path. If you do take into account the curvature of the depicted path, the car traveling around the radius of that path would add an additional force vector pointing away from the center of the radius.

Numbers are for engineers anyway. I only really care about the physics.
