This is a time-dependent map giving the probability of strong shaking at any location in California within the next 24-hours. For this purpose, “strong shaking” is defined as Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) VI, or the level of shaking that throws objects off shelves.

That site actually is pretty amazing. I have always been interested in earthquakes and that site is updated almost instantaneously. We had a 5.0 up here a couple years back while I was on the phone with someone in Reno. As soon as it passed, I opened the site and it was on there. What was really cool was it happened while I was talking on the phone and I said "holy crap we just had an earthquake", then the person on the other line said " I just felt it" about 2 seconds after I said it.

OK so I'm an earthquake geek.

I think I was in Tahoe when that earth Quake happened. I remember being there about 2 or three years back during August I think it was, some time in the summer. Same one?

yeah, too bad that's not the current one. . . In fact, nice job, that's a complete opposite of what was being shown right now

It took me hours to recolor it in Paint. I'm glad someone appreciates the dedication I put into it.

It took me a second to realize it was the exact opposite, I had to go back and edit my post.
