Imo "moderates" are non confrontational, they want to compromise every issue and would rather see shades of grey than black and white.

A Moderate isn't someone who has no opinions, it's someone that has a different (left/right) opinion on various topics. ie: someone who is for abortion (liberal) but supports tax cuts(conservative).

people that have to hear both sides of the issue and see where the majority reside are what I consider a moderate. Those people are the ones that need the media to make up their minds for them

Nobody can be totally "conservative" or completely "liberal", so with the logic stated, everyone is a moderate? 
That's why it's such a joke. My definition od a moderate is someone who tries too hard to see both sides becuase they believe we can all get along if we find common ground, which we all know is complete bullspit.

"moderates" just don't have the sack to make other people mad or oppose their point of view...instead they'd rather everyone dance around under rainbows and do trust falls.
most of the time they don't even know what they believe.
and liberals are just as whacked!
they preach "tolerance" across the board, but they, themselves are intolerent to anyone who opposes their views...
