the actual installation of the tivo is a piece of cake. it's just like setting up a new receiver. i believe you can use the multiswitch inside the house so you wouldn't need to get up on your roof.

you could be ghetto like me and decide you want every room wired for satellite and put 2 dishes on the house, one on each side. that way you don't have really long wires running all over the place.

Yes, you can have the multi-switch inside. I tossed the built-in one on my dish in favor of my 8 port one.

I just ran the four RG6 lines from the dish (third LNB gets conbined with one of the other LNB outputs) into my distribution panel in one of the closets. From there I run to the TV's.

If I ever need more than 8 outputs I can get away with an additional multiswitch. I don't have to get a 5X16. I have to review the options but there was a way to add a 4X8 to my 5X8. blah blah blah.

well i got the tivo installed yesterday, installation was easy ( i ended up doing most of it since i had the day off and nothing to do, plus the tivo goes thru my computer and i didnt want the dtv guy f'ing up my computer ) and i <3 tivo

which TiVo box did you get? I ended up getting the juan with more memory on it and later found out, you can put the shiet on computer

i got the DVR R10...i dont plan to mod it, so i just got the one thats free after rebate
