This.. I live in EG.. My Wagon is pretty loud.. In the past year or so I was pulled over once while it still had a melon shooter on it..

After I hacked the can off and installed something less noticeable I haven't been bothered since..

I think its mostly a function of how you drive / what your car looks like.. The noise gives them cause to search incident to arrest - but if you don't look like an a-hole from a distance you're prob. going to be fine.

generally, if you drive like a dick you'll get hassled by the cops. go with the flow and they have much juicier targets like hot soccer moms in AMGs
Try drivin around with 3.5"'APS exhaust, I bet you won't last more then 1 week before getting pulled over!

Bro. I live in Elk Grove off of EG Blvd, which is like cop central other than laguna. And I have a catless downpipe and a non resonated Trust Titanium burnt tip exhaust. Lol, I drive around and just ignore the cops because they'll either give you a ticket or wont. You having out of state plates they probably won't fucc with you.

But for the retune I'd go to either Paul since he's close or Ed at EQ. Paul knows what he's doing and is very close, and Eq just got a new dyno and a few other toys. I'd call up both of them and see which one you feel more welcomed by.

Well, I dont drive like a douche bag so I might be alright... I will be in the down town area mostly, but plan on going down to elk grove and the surrounding areas... I guess I will have to play dumb to California law and act like I never lived there before.

Yeah I use to live off of franklin blvd and big horn... I'm pretty sure Im going to get looked at funny when I go back home... I have a long list of people to catch up with.

Im just looking at tuning prices... depending what someone is going to charge me I might just wing it for the time Im down there. Im not going to spend 500$ on a tune for two weeks of driving... Well see...

Rather than putting a ton of miles on a highly tuned car, getting a retune, risking a built motor, etc, why not fly out and rent a car for two weeks? You're going to be doing most of your damage (if any) on the drive before you get to the area.

I need to put miles on the motor... lol thats the only reason why I wanted to take it down in the first place.

You need miles on the motor? Are you breaking it in??? Long steady state drives aren't ideal for break in.
