i was scared a little when i realized that my headlight was inside the oven, but it really isnt that hard. i did my friends 06 WRX as well.

Yeah it sounds simple, yet it sounds complicated. My only concern more so then melting it is not getting it sealed all the way again and having water and moister get in it.

I dont exactly got the money to replace a set of basically brand new headlights :-)

 

new headlights go for around 600. I remember i got to pocket that money when insurance paid me for a "scratch" on my headlight after the accident.

It is somewhat risky but as long as you dont start messing with other things and stay focused on one job you should be fine. Just dont set the temp too high or let them sit in there too long. I went and bought silicone to seal the headlights but realized that I didnt really need it.

No care JDM. The lights look super clean ~ on OR off! I was also painting the plastic surrounds inside AND drinking beer ~ oh yeah, an I was doing it by myself. It wasn't a 'pit stop'... Geez!

And I agree two guys doing it... double ew!

 

The only advice I can give is do this project sober.

(me + 6 pack) + (headlight + oven) =



make sure that you set the oven on bake when it's on the bottom rack, not broil.
