ok so the invest part may be an idea, but im young and stupid. dont know if i could just put away money when i could spend it on useless stuff.

i like that blue one that sonicsuby posted up, its close too in carmichael. not sure about the custom headers part....

i also have been looking at RsMonkey's car. although im not too sure about that one either. it has been modded and he doesnt know about the mileage since he put the sti cluster in. he thinks its around 115k and he hasnt done the headgaskets yet....here is picture though http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...i/DSC_0194.jpg

and even if i could afford an sti, i wouldnt want it. i like my chassis more.

Mainly for him, a CD would be a safe investment - his money wouldn't grow a ton, but it also wouldn't be all gone tomorrow if he made a bad decision. When he gets out of school, having $5k sitting in the bank (that has hopefully grown to $6k or $7k) will be nice. He can use it for expenses with getting a place out of the dorms or with other expenses when he starts working in whatever field he wants.

I can understand the way you feel. But if you can manage to save it, you'll be much happier about it in a few years when you have a large chunk of money at your disposal

i moved out of the dorms in may actually. my parents own a condo in the woodside development and i live there now. pretty close to campus, at howe and northrop. i ride my bike to school and work currently (safeway on howe).

speaking of safeway i need a new job. those ****s wont pay me any money. ive been promoted twice. i make $8.10 an hour. when you subtract union dues out i end up netting $6.20 an hour. A minimum wage job at $6.75 without union dues nets $6.01 per hour. 19 cents more an hour and i handle mass amounts of cash and deal with morons all day. bull****!

nice Didn't know you were out of the dorms. I pissed through a lot of money when I was younger and just wish I had some of it left, or at least something big and kick *** to show for it

At 18, I was living at home, making $1900 month (after taxes). I maintained about $1500 in savings and just plowed through the rest - yeah I had fun, dates with girls, late, expensive nights out all the time, etc, but I really wish I had maybe $10k of that money left over still. Would have helped me out a few years ago
sounds like me, i have had $600 in my bank account for like 6 months now. i make 200 a week. not sure where the money goes, i dont have to pay rent...i pay for food/internet/school though. actually, spring '07 was paid for with money from my scholarship fund. first 3 semesters i paid for though. but yah i basically spend $200 a week somehow. no idea where it goes.

Hah, well maybe its worth looking into interning somewhere or something. Or maybe just grab the classifieds and look for a college student job if you really want to get out of Safeway.
