Left Foot Braking issues??

More of a question for Auto-x and roadracing guys

I've been trying to left foot brake my 2004 STi at the track and keep on having odd issues with the DCCD transferring power suddenly and breaking the back wheels loose.
From he driver's seat, this feels bad, like gonna break something bad.

What's everyone's experiences? Is this a loser deal in the STi?
Should I just stop with the LFB ?

On the track LFB might not be that much help, as trailing throttle with maybe a little heel and toe work should be enough to get you rotating.

LFB is more commonly deployed on gravel where the impetus is on forcing the vehicle to oversteer, and even then it is a bit of an art to find and hold that balance point where you can effectively steer with the throttle.

Bottom line- the back end is supposed to break loose when you LFB, so it shouldn't be surprising that it happens, and if you don't want the tail coming loose, don't LFB.

I think you are misunderstanding me.

I am well aware of the purpose of left foot braking... and applying this to Auto-x. The tail sliding is not my concern; that's not what I'm asking. The potential problem is the sudden shift of power to the rear wheels. I've been auto-xing for 10 years but primarly in FWD and RWD cars. With this STi I am unsure of how power is supposed to transfer.
With late-model Audis if you attempt to LFB the ECM puts the car into full brake engaugement. I'm wondering if there is a similar system on the STI

Chief concern is that I am not hurting the car by using LFB

The STI does not work like the Audi, we use LFB to keep the turbo in it's power band on the track.

Q to the OP- Have you tried the DCCS in different settings?

Everyone I've spoken to in the Auto-X world has said to leave DCCD in Auto Mode. I know that Lock mode has the ability to hurt the car if used on pavement, unsure about the other modes... part of the reason for this post
