with that many patches, calling it beta is an over statement.

 

I was looking at Vista for a new gaming box I'm building, simply for DirectX 10 (not available for XP). But all of these experiences are making me reconsider...

 

for now i would suggest staying away vista for gaming

 

yeh unless u just wanna play flight simulator and other microsoft made games for vista

 

then i can make use of my joystick! woot

 

playing Star Wars Empires at War (for something to do while out at sea) and other than a few minor install glitches...runs fine now.

another solution for ppl would be to setup a dual boot system so u can still run xp. and yes u can set it up with either xp or vista as ur primary os. the methods are different but both can be done '(google is ur friend)

 

I've been told by several IT guys to wait until Vista comes out with the 2nd service pack just so that I don't have to deal with the majority of the bugs and compatability issues that others are facing.

Not like Vista is going to make my video games or **** go faster.

 

then i wont be using it then

hmm thats like asking for something to go wrong, i did this once back in the day when my uncle wanted to run chinese windows and english windows together on one rig quite the hassle

 

but it will make the windows they are in look prettier LOL (aero graphics ftw)


i hate office 07 just like vista everything is moved around from the old one. especially in excel. plus everything defaults to the new file format when u save stuff so if u send it to someone it wont open unless u save it as the older format with the x at the end of the file type

and who the hell used four letters for file type anyway lol (sorry random ranting )
