Windows VISTA
#16
I wouldn't recommend getting the vista unless you really want to get your feet wet. It is still highly considered to be a new OS, so chances are many patches are needed for users to install existing software that were made for its predecessor OS'. If you work in a big corp that uses Windows, I'm confident to say that most of these corps have not switched off from XP to Vista. I even doubt that Microsoft as a whole have migrate from the old OS to the new and buggy one for all of its employees and developers the least to say.

only reason to get vista if you buy a whole new system from dell or hps. but then you have no choice now if you walk into bb to buy something but still, if you have copy of xp stick with it.

2gb ram should run about maybe 100-150 depending brand. i recommend cosair running at 800mhz,
i don't think they make the x800 any more x1650pro would do the trick
I believe a min of at least 430-450w is necessary.
the only reason why i ask if you cared about the noise cuz my old rig would keep me up at night while i was dl, and ever since then i made sure my rig would be as quiet as possible

oh gosh where to begin i see these craps at work everyday
as previously stated good vid card is a must, as far as ram 1gb min it will run like **** on 512mb, 2gb recom.
might want to look into a 7200rpm or higher hd but not a must
general impressions of it so far they took xp made it look pretty and moved around everything so u cant find it.
i would recommend to everyone interested in vista to wait until this summer when they release sp1 which should iron out a majority of the kinks in vista.
and too bad for u guys if this thread would have been posted i would of sold u guys my core 2 setup for cheap and even thrown in vista
i had e6300 and an intel board + vista ultimate would of sold it for ~300 for the iclub fam
i still have a legit copy of vista ultimate for sale if anyone is interested

first computer away from apple since 1999. makes me regret so far getting it.
I know it's because it's a new OS, but it is frustrating to have a brand new computer crash 3 hours after getting it....
