some type of heatshield broke.. you can see the crack. what is it exactly? and can anyone help me find the part#

 

thats the up pipe

get an aftermarket one if you are goign to replace it

maybe down pipe
but i can see you power steering lines

nope. its an up pipe.

 

yea its the uppipe, since the downpipe is mounted right on top of it in the pic.

is that uppipe heat shield easy to take off?

 

If you could get a more clear picture, I could tell you exactly what heatshild it is. But if it is infact the up pipe heatshield, Those things are welded on and the weld probably broke. You'd have to take out the up pipe and have it welded. It will be a thousand times easier to replace the up pipe with a catless one.

 

There is something weird with that picture to me. I can see the up pipe and the axle at the bottom, so I know what angle it is. But those 2 bolts on the up pipe are for a piece of the stock heatshield on the turbo/downpipe. It looks as if the up pipe isn't even attached to the turbo on top.

I dunno maybe its just a bad picture.

its the best picture i can take from under the car. the broken heatshield that is ratteling is directly under the turbo housing.

 

i think im getting a lot of vibration from taht area when i drive because i hear metallic ratteling sounds.

any idea how long it'll take to swap out an uppipe?
