plasmas and lcd's are usually light for wall mounting .my 40" lcd weighs 40 lbs . some LCD's like olevias are pigs at 90 lbs. (42"!)
rear projection tv's are generally on the heavier side, and unless you get a slim one take up more space.

720 and 1080i or p? that would be the resolution. the bigger the better (1080 is the highest now).

p is better than i.

we have a 42" plasma at our place (did you see it last time?) 1080i. i'm happy with our tv.

the bigger the better but it depends on what you watch. If you watch alot of sports people say that 720P looks better then 1080i (even ESPN broadcasts their sports in 720p)

720i/p 1080 i/p these are standards in what considers a TV to be high def
the first number stands for the number of vertical lines that is drawn on the screen.
the letter stands for: i (interlaced) or p (progressive)
basically with an interlaced display it basically draws every odd line in 1/60th of a second, then draws the other even set of lines the next 1/60th of a second. as you go up in resolution it has more lines to draw and then the displays do start to flicker, especially when there's fast action going on the screen. it's kinda like those really old computer monitors and PC's. you turn up the resolution really high and all of a sudden you see all kinds of flickering on the screen. that's an interlaced display.
what makes progressive better is that it draws every line on the screen, side to side, in 1/60th of a second. people argue that even at 720p the picture will look better than if it were in 1080i. now whether to get a 720 or 1080p display..... you really can't see the difference between 720p & 1080p displays until you start going into the 50"+ ranges, and it also depends how far you sit from the screen... (and how much you have in your wallet hehe)

progressive is better
If you get bigger screen let's say a 40inch +
Then it's probably better to get 1080 vs 720

damn all this talk about TV makes me want to buy a new 32 Inch 720P for my room.

i thought stuff is shot in 16 frames a second so why would miliseconds matter?
