WRC 2008...Predictions???

okay so...the beginning of the 2008 WRC season is only 2 days away (Finally!). Anyone want to make any predictions on how the final standings will turn out? Will Seb make it five in a row? Solberg re-claim his title? New Frontrunner? Let me know what you guys think. As for me, I would love to see Solberg and the SWRT return to the top of the podium, but they have some serious issues to take care of with car reliability and such. I have nothing against Seb Loeb, but I am tired on seeing him dominate. Hirvonen pisses me off because he was a piece of S*** when driving for subaru, and now he is quickly becoming a title contender! i am eager to see the new WRC Imreza08, but its too bad we have to wait until mid-season for the car to launch. Anyways, im just happy that the season is getting started. Go SWRT!!!

Oh, I'm interested... it's just that I'm not expecting an overnight turnaround JUST BECAUSE Subaru brought out a new car. Heck, in F1 they bring out new cars all the time, and occasionally find out that last year's was better! It'll probably look a lot like last year...

Thumbs up

It'll take time for Petter. New car,new learning curve.
I'm hoping that they'll do better this season.

I know that a new car means nothing for Petter and the team, I just hope they can get back on track to where they used to be. `I think Chris Atkinson should start coming around this year, and will be a stronger presence, especially on gravel rallies. The SWRT and Petter are the reason I began watching WRC and the reason I bought a subie. I am a die-hard faithful...just like my 49ers...*sigh*...

SPEED blows. Their WRC coverage was crappy anyway. I think DL the WRC events by torrent is probably your best bet. You just have to be patient enough not to check the site to see the results. In fact, i just finished watching the Monte Carlo rally from this past weekend...3rd and 5th place...not bad!

Although Speed's coverage was just an hour and a half rundown of the rallies, at least it was something. Plus I miss the commentary from Nicky Grist.

i really believe atkinson is coming up fast in the wrc. he'll eventually take over solberg (i feel). But, loeb is still going to dominate this year. i have much respect for hirvonen and he'll do ok. I'm VERY interested in seeing what Suzuki has up their sleeves. Though, their cars had difficulties at Monte Carlo I still have faith that suzuki's cars will win manufacturer one day.

SWRT all the way! Can't wait till 08 impreza starts near end of the year. better aerodynamics and stability.
