The Dakar is coming!
This year the Dakar isn't starting near Paris, as traditionally it has. Instead, the drivers will start in Barcelona, Spain. The race starts in just a few weeks, on New Years Eve, 2004. The competitors will end up on Dakar beach on January 16, if they survive.
There will be 3 competitive stages in Spain (one being a side-by-side superspecial), 2 in Morocco, 6 in Mauritania, 2 and 3 competitive stages in Senegal, with almost as many liason stages inbetween. 2 marathon-stages exist between Zouérat --> Tichit and Kiffa --> Bamako.

I can't wait.

It sucks that speed won't be covering it live, but I still can't friggin wait. Are they still going to use the same announcers? I've come to like the announcers they usually use.

p.s. is it bad that my favorite class is the 'big rigg' diesles? I love watching those things just plow through the sand.

I don't know what OLN is doing, nor do I think anyone does. But it doesn't look good.
For the duration of the Dakar, they are showing some show about 6 guys competiting to be a motorcycle rider for an American team in Death Valley. Its kinda unclear to me weather each night is going to be a new episode, or a repeat or what have you. Then, after the Dakar is over, same deal, 20 or so days straight playing the Dakar, but its also unclear if its day by day, or just the same show over and over again. Ugh.
As for the trucks, hell no its not a bad thing to like them so much
