Co-drivers names on car
I was looking through the Monte Carlo pictures on rally-live.com, and I noticed something interesting that I haven't seen reported anywhere.
I seems that some manufacturers have taken the co-drivers name off of the car. It appears that Subaru and Ford have kept the co-driver names, but Peugeot, Citroen and Mitsubishi have removed them.
to the FIA for deeming the co-driver unworthy of on-car recognition.
EDIT: It looks like the monkey should really go to the FIA for this mess

thats odd, they typically put those on there for both the fans and the medical personel, along with both driver and co-driver's blood types...

Well, it turns out there is a new regulation saying that only the drivers name should be on the car.
FIA officials were actually peeling off co-drivers names from Ford and Subaru cars that were in violation of this new rule. Pictures from day 2 seem to confirm this...
So, the monkey now goes to the FIA, not Peugeot, Citroen or Mitsubishi.
As for the emergency information, name and blood type is also written on the suit and/or helmet so the drivers/co-drivers are in no danger from this stupid new rule.

You know, some of the more controversial rule changes I'm ambivalent on (like mille pistes and SupeRally), but this one really struck me as just plain insulting.
This one sucks almost as much as the proposed ban on gravel crews.

the fia just doesn't seem to understand that they're alienating the hard-core fanbase that they've spent the last 10+ years building up. What, do they think the co-driver isn't important? Pfgftththththththttpppp!!! (yes you heard me right.)
Without the codriver, rallying is just another race. With codrivers rallying transcends mere motorsport and becomes an art unto itself.

The official reasoning is "co-drivers names confuse the public" or some crap like that.
Its not only a huge slap in the face of co-drivers, but its also a decent-sized slap in the face of fans. We are aparently too stupid to know that a rally car has two people inside it, each doing a very important job to win.

What a terrible idea. The driver steers the car and the navigator ( co-driver ) steers the driver. All the work on and off the stage that they do and to have their names removed is just wrong. The co-drivers seem to even take their own time to update the websites more then the drivers. The manufacturers and the fans should do something in protest.

I agree this thing is totally wrong! So what's FIA's reason, I mean to them it's only a sticker on the car, it's no harm, it's not like the stickers are saying F**K U! to the fans or breaking any censorship laws or whatever. It's just plain stupid, co-drivers deserve as much or more recognition by having their name on the car than the sponsers themselves. Just plain dumba** move by FIA
