Hi all,
I just got my second ticket in less than a week. Honestly, its my fault - I was speeding. Reguardless, now that it has happened - what can I do to minimize the consequences? Up until now, my record is perfect. I am in Portland, OR and got both tickets here. Anyone had any success reducing fines/points/insurance consequences from tickets? How did you do it?
I figure a buch of STI/WRX nerds (like my self) might have some insight from the NW!
Thanks

Tickets suck. Oregon does not have a points system. I have been lucky when I got pulled over in Tigard Or (twice on the same road in the same spot). I had 2 tickets on my record that were about 6 months apart and I lost my good driver discount but that was a awhile ago. I have always heard cops have to certified on the use of thier radar gun and they have to have there radar gun calibrated every so offen so you could always try ask to see that. good luck. were at Portland did you move too?

Anyway, I live in Wilsonville now - I am getting my MBA at Portland State University and consulting. Are you in the area? I moved up here from CA. The first ticket I got a week ago was 75 in a 55. In LA, if your not going 80 to 85 your a road bump. Its tough getting used to the ENFORCED 55 MPH speed limit.
I am from Tigard, my wife lives up there with my parents while I'm here in S. Korea for a year. You might see our car around its a 02' WRB WRX wagon w/ WEDSport SA90's. I know waht you mean about the Cali speeding I was stationed at Edwards AFB for about 4 years got used to doing 70-80+mph. Its hard to get use to that 55 mph speed limit. Feels like your barely moving.

Get a Valentine.
And get rid of the California plates ASAP
Police around the greater Portland area love speeders...especially those from CA.
About 7 years ago, I received two tickets within 3 hours; they were both BS, & I had to help the officer fill out one of them!
Needless to say, I didn't pay one of 'em (the gov't lost the 2nd one), and as a result, my driving priviledges have been suspended in the Great State of Oregon.
