again this isn't a subaru but i posted this before when the project was started. now it is 90% done and it is also on it's way to the U.S. I don't know when it is suppose to get there but it will be in the states this summer.
now keep in mind that the car does drives and the engine bay and interior will be worked on in the states. he just wanted the exterior done before he left.
IMO, this is probably the better engine for this car just the fact that it is easier to work on. i don't have the other link for the before pictures, i know it is on this site. but if you could find it, you could see the change.

I guess its something unique, although I dont know enough about Nissan engines to know whats good or not. Maybe you should give the EJ equivalent. Like it has the RB26 (ej207 equivalent) then we would all say oooh aaahh.
I do see the red GC8 in the background in a couple shots. How about the size of that GT wing? eek!

Looks good, I saw the before pics and it looks much better now. I'd have to say the rb is an excelent choice for that swap, there's a guy in my town that swapped a stock RB26dett into a 240 and that thing was a ****ing monster !

the wing on the car isn't that bad, since it is in japan and not america(rice heaven) and i know that all americans are not ricers but most of their opinions about seeing a GT wing on any sports car will concider that car to be rice. people in the states take opinions overboard about what's rice and what's nice. man, i love living in japan.

i think it's on the cover of sport compact car, i mean they have articles about it in all the major import mags. I believe it runs 10.41 1/4 miles and has 500 hp
Here's the problem in the US. The kids see dumb stuff in the media like "The Fast and the Furious" and all the other crap. Its not all bad, but the kids just slap on a wing and some neon on a civic and think they're the sh**. Then the backlash is that anything with a wing or bodykit is rice.
I don't know much about Japan, but I bet there has not been this sudden rise in Japanese cars over there (duh, you all have been driving them for decades) and there is not the same focus on them like there is here. So it is no big deal if someone mods their car and all the kids aren't doing silly things.
Also, over here, there was the muscle car era and the legacy of the American muscle car is still strong to this day. And you end up with kids with no clue doing half assed and goofy mods on their cars (mostly Japanese ones, but that is true less and less) and at the same time groups of old school muscle car guys and people influenced by their parents having muscle cars (some are still losers though). So the JDM crowd gets caught in the middle.
It all just sucks. Some people just hate anything not American, some don't like anything without giant rims and lights brighter than the sun.
So the best you can do is make something you think is cool and hang out with people that agree. Like take your car for example, I think it is original and the wing is probably functional, but it looks great either way. And I think people into subies like people on i-club would agree. But many people would hate your car here. Some would hate it because it doesn't have a V8 and they think wing=ricer. Some would not even know enough to realize it is a Japanese car, think it is Australian (silly ads over here some years ago, Crocodile Dundee) and think it sucks for that reason.
A lot of people here are not open minded and know nothing. Yet they can be the loudest and most likely to let you know their dumb opinion. Over there I think that people don't care if they aren't into cars, and if they are then they are open minded enough to take in the whole picture. And most don't make silly cars because if they like cars enough to mod them then they learn about them. People that don't know drive stock and don't worry about it. Here everyone worries about it and has an opinion. And it is common enough that people mod cars just to be "cool". At least to the group they hang with that thinks 2F2F was the best movie ever.
Over here modding cars is no longer a hobby for the dedicated, like say photography can be. It is almost like clothes now and a sort of status symbol. If we didn't have this problem, people who need a great commuter car would get a civic and people wanting a performance car would get something like an impreza and do mods that reflect themselves and what they want to use it for. No one but 4x4 guys would get SUVs and no one would even think 28" rims with spinners are a great idea. And this country would be a better place with lower gas prices and less emissions problems and maybe people would use other transport so we can have less traffic and no one will dis your car no matter what you mod.
Sorry for the rant, but the US is messed up when it comes to car culture. Makes me want to move somewhere better. I wonder where that could be?
