Car still runs like ****. Fixed the hole in the fuel tank. Tried to make the HKS BOV better. But it's still acting like it has a vacuum leak. This thing worked when it was on the TurboSmart BOV. I don't have that BOV anymore. Broke down a bought a new one.
I dislike the lack of black.
The car drove a little better but still ****ty.

It's like a silver beacon on my mountain of BLACK...

This further came to afoot when...

I noticed that fuel pressure was funky. Maybe my pump is going bad? It is kinda old. Placed an order with Summit, new pump was delivered the next day. I kinda love Summit.

Kinda interesting, both pumps are Part # 50-1215...

Old one is 320lph@43psi, new one is 340lph@40psi...

Pump didn't fix it...
Went to clean the MAF. Noticed unusual amount of slack on the harness. Seems the harness was loose between the frame and the engine and has melted a little. Peeling back the cover, it’s hard to tell if the wires are ok or not. But it would track if they’re fine when cold and shorting when hot. The car would start fine when cold but wouldn’t when hot. Cleaned the MAF and put it back. Tried to tuck the harness away from the engine. Car seems to run much better. Not 100% but really close. Unplugging the MAF altogether, the car runs and stays alive. Air temp and MAF g/s we’re holding constant so it didn’t seem like the harness was shorting. Maybe the MAF itself is going bad?
Lots of slack.

Melted.

Seems ok?

Still not running great. Cleaned the throttle body. Admittedly, kind of half ***. But it does seem noticeably cleaner.

The car finally started to run better.
Then cylinder 3 left the chat…

Some shenanigans with the BOV. Hopefully get HKS sound with Turbosmart functionality.
I have determined that this piece alone is what makes an HKS BOV sound like an HKS BOV.
Turbosmart makes a plumb back fitting that is about the same diameter.

Basically perfect

Get some hose...

Yep..

Secure it...

Clean it up...

I pretty much have all the fittings I'd ever need for this thing now...

I also went and measured the stock valve.

Made a restrictor plate. The hope is that this can restrict the flow and induce some compressor surge. But it’s the same size as stock so it wouldn’t be any more damaging than running the stock valve.

Trying to sort out #3...
Pull the intake and find that it's got a huge cut in the filter.

Looks like the frame may have done the cutting...

Got a new filter.

Put it in with some hose along the frame. Should be good there...

Swapped the coils around on #1 and #3... No change.
I suppose I can replace the sparkplugs...
#3 does look pretty bad...

#1 looks ok.

#4 looks phenominal.

#2 looks ok.

Man... Changing sparkplugs sucks ***.
Also, didn't fix the problem...

Perhaps it's the injector?
#3 injector looks ok...

#1 has a dodgy o-ring.

Give them both a "clean" and new rings.

Cylinder 3 still doesn't wanna play ball...

Got a new toy...

Lets just look inside...

It appears that a decent portion of one of the exhaust valves just isn't there.

This is now current time... Checked with my mechanic. Says Engine has to come out to get to #3. Is like a $3000 operation. The car is going to have to sit for a bit...

Also came across my old dyno sheet. I feel like I've been doing a pretty good job of not revealing how much power I was making. Three years on, I think it's ok to let the info out.

So close to 400. When it was on the dyno, the actual mix was E69. Mike figured that if it was E70, it would be 400 no problem. I know it's just a number. But, ****, just shy of 400 is frustrating. I also thought that a perfect 50whp difference from 91 to E85 was kinda neat too.
But man, at 393, the car scoots pretty good.
