Stoptech caliper installed on car and torqued to proper spec. Glad to finally get this task checked off the to do list, I can not believe how long a simple task like rebuilding the calipers took. I hate those dust boots....

Stoptech street/light track brake pads installed. Everything slid together perfectly, have to love it when install is a breeze. Now it is just time to instlal the stoptech braided brake lines and bleed the system with Motul RBF600 brake fluid and my upgraded brake system will be complete. I love how easy the design of the Stoptech caliper makes swapping brake pads, remove two hex bolts and the bridge pulls away, then simply remove and reinstall your brake pads. This makes it extremely easy to swap pads at the track. It takes longer to remove your wheels than it takes to swap out your pads.

Fully installed Stoptech system in all its glory ... Can not wait to feel the remarkable improvement on the street and track. I fell the wrx brake system was one of its weakest points, as it did not inspire confidence or predictability under aggressive driving. The stoptech system will provide large performance gains with proper brake bias, increased thermal capacity, better cooling, larger calipers and more brake torque, better pads and fluid, stiffer and larger caliper, etc. Very eager to bed in the brakes and test them out on the road and track.

Here is a little teaser pic of part of the dash as the adhessive dries. I took the dash all apart and coated seprerately to ensure clean lines and a professional result. This is of the passenger side airbag, and I must say it loks quite stunning. I will post up pics of the dash tonight, I think this should be a mod many track cars should seriously consider.

Dash completely flocked and curing. The install of the product was very simple, most of the work is actually done while removing the dash and prepping. I built a mini booth out of some old boxes to help contain the product, as it does make a mess. I used a 3 inch rolled with a 2/8 inch nap to cover the majority of the dash with the adhessive, and used a brush to hit all the more technical areas. The adhessive gives a 10-15 minute working time, so I didn't stop to take pictures. After the entire dash was covered adequately and smoothly, I ran the roller over everything once more to ensure a fresh coat was everywhere and give me the maximum working time. I then used the applicators to flock the dash. The instructions said to use extra, as whatever doesn't adhere to the the dash can be reused, I think I definitely used extra, and had to rotate the dash to ensure complete and proper coverage of all areas receiving the flocking. After the dash cures the remaining flocking material simply falls off, and can be reused. I think it came out rather well

I was planning to do a full how to install of the flocking and dash when I got back and remounted the dash, but judging from the interest I have received both locally as well as via pm's I want to let people know about the flocking. I purchased the flocking kit through donjer products (DonJer Flocking Fibers Supplies Suede-Tex Soft Flock Rayon Nylon Spray Applicators Kits Adhesive Cars Decoys Rods). I just used the regular hand applicator but if you have access to an air compressor they have an applicator that uses the compressed air. I was definitely apprehensive about prepping and flocking my dash, as once you start prepping there is no going back, and if I messed up I would be forced to purchase a new dash ... Not the direction I wanted my money to go. Judging from the responses of those that have seen the final result, it came out amazingly well, and exceeded my expectations. The customer service was top notch, I called up donjer and they spent twenty minutes on the phone answering my every question and coming up with a package to meet my needs. The flocking materials shipped out that day and donjer emailed me links to various how to articles for pictures of the process. Definitely the customer service and expertise that makes the modification process enjoyable. Of course, that all means nothing if the product is inferior, or goes on unevenly, but judging from my results and pictures this was clearly not the case.

I was very apprehensive about this part as I had never done flocking before, and my standards for parts and quality is enormously high, and I am glad to tell those that have emailed me that the product and company met my expectations.
The best way for me to describe this product and results is what I have been telling local friends and those who requested by pm, if you have the dash off the car I see absolutely no reason not to do this modification. Low purchase price, good quality of product, excellent technical support, ease of application with a fantastic end result, what more can you want. Plus the lack of glare off the dash will ease hardcore driving and let you focus on the road, plus it looks amazing (in my opinion) and hardcore/functional as hell.

A detailed write up will come when I return from vacation, I will throw the link up on my build thread for those interested.

Sorry about the delays, I know it has been a while since I posted updates to this project on this forum. I have been working a ton of overtime (have to work it when you can get it) to help pay for fun stuff, as well as moving into a house, it took me a while to find where the computer was
packed. Here are some updates of the progress.

Dashboard ducting reinstalled after flocking. I removed all the ducting as the flocking powder is very fine and I didn't want to deal with any getting into the vents and ducts. Aslo by removing the ducts and associated trim panels, I am assured a professional looking end product with crisp lines.

These are the clean lines that I am referring to. By removing all the trim panels you are able to get complete coverage and crisp lines which gives a clean professional appearance. As the dash is a highly visible item, and you will be staring at it every time you get behind the wheel, I highly recommend you take the time to prep properly.

View of reinstalled dash from other side. Very happy with the end result. Was disappointed, during initial curing one little .5 inch scrape left a bare spot right on top of the gauge cluster right in front of my face, but I reapplied adhessive with a q tip and reapplied adhessive, and was able to achieve a very good blend job. I am really impressed with the quality of the end product, should really set off the interior as well as prove highly functional, all for $50.

Minor update, I am really behind on this build thread since I'm moving and couldn't find the computer. Just did an initial fire up to remove all air bubbles from the coolant today, and the little blue subie sounds downright mean. Perrin headers, APS up pipe, OEM TD-04 turbo, APS 3 inch down pipe, and APS 3 inch cat back exhaust sound downright vicious at idle, not near race car volume levels but definitely an aggressive street car idle. Even though I am running Perrin equal length headers, I was very impressed with the sound at idle. As per Cobb's recommendations, I am using their OTS Stage 2 91 octane map for initial start up and break in. Obviously, this is not a perfect match for my modifications as I am running the equal length headers, but they felt it was perfectly safe as long as I didn't go out and beat on the car. As this is just break in, I think this will be safe for break in. Can't wait to hear what this parts combination will sound like at redline ... and what this car will sound like with a gtx 3071 and a plumbed into my exhaust. Really excited to start the car up for the first time in 8 months ... great feeling, only had to chase a couple little gremlins preventing startup (forgot 2 connectors when reinstalling dash and 1 clip to the starter solenoid).

Minor hiccup though, I do have a serious oil leak that I will be diagnosing today. Overall though, for a project of this magnitude it was a very painless startup, just got to back to the garage and diagnose this oil leak, then its off to get the bodywork done so I can have complete suspension travel with my 275 series tires on my 18x9.5 inch rims.... Then off to GST Motorsports to get the final turbo installed, fuel system installed, tune, and drive it.

Oil leak has been diagnosed and fixed, hoping to get over to the garage tonight after work and reinstall all the parts that were taken off to diagnose and repair the problem. Very tentative startup date is tomorrow to bleed the coolant, then set up an appointment at the race shop for fender rolling, alignment, and corner balance, then off on the road for some break in miles. Very excited, can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's been a long journey but looking forward to enjoying the car from track days to my daily commute. Updates to come, let's see if anything on this car can stick to a schedule.

Center console and electronics being reinstalled. Starting to make the interior feel like a car again. Progress is coming along nicely.
