Bhahahaha... 'Ju guys are killing me maeng.
Tonight Dave came over again and we pulled apart the WRX wiring harness. By "We", I mean I struggled with a few clips and Dave did the rest. He said the hard part is over, so hopefully we can lob the harness in the car 'n get er all wired up.

Another quick update. Changed out the rear struts yesterday and put the WRX stuff on. Thank you, Subaru, for making the 3 12mm nuts at the top of the strut frickin impossible to get at. (sigh)
Dave clipped the connector for the "L" ECU and made labels for all the wires he has to splice into the WRX setup.
I figure we'll run this setup for a month or two and then throw the H-6 in.
Hehehe.
Hopefully we can get it running soon. I gotta pick up the STi exhaust from (Dirtyboy808?) and I gotta hop down to Subaru to get the damn swaybar mounts. The L and WRX ones are too small to clear the bushings that the STi bar has.

oh you never got the bushing that came with the sti bar that weird.
the reason i say weird is b/c when you upgrade your RSB the new one will most likely come with new bushing so there is really no need to re-use the sti bushing.

I can't remember the guy I picked up the swaybar from - it had the bushings on it, just not the little metal cup dealies that bolt up to the body.
Of course my fiance was cool enough to swing by Subaru on Beritania today...only to find out they've moved over across from the Infiniti dealer now (where did they move the 2000GT to?). ...and of course, "oh, they may not have the parts over there yet."
We got the engine in today. Wohoo! Managed to get a sweet Exxon Valdez gear oil slick all over my driveway. No problem - a few tons of oil eater on it and we kept going. And then it rained. (sigh)
Putting the driveshafts, front struts, and wheels on in the rain is not fun. The light wouldn't reach out there either. Woohoo!
Damn up-pipe had the EGT probe mounting in the dumbest place. Top stud holes weren't exactly "precision" either.
Looks like it might even be resting on the power steering lines, but we can't check that out until tomorrow. If I have to take that thing out I'm going to scream. It was a pain in the butt even with the engine out of the car.
I just want to get the damn thing done so I can drive it!

Wiring. DONE! A Big Mahalo to Dave Contreras (dsbaruuuuu). Without him I would have never gotten this far.
Picked up $45,000 worth of gear oil today. Holy crap that stuff is expensive. Fran (DOHC 2.5) came over to help out as well. Got the fuel pump switched over. Blech. Gas stinky.
Tomorrow it's time to drain the fluids that are still in the engine, change out the oil, and re-fill stuff. Once that's done we'll try to send power to the mess to see if there are any codes, and then get 'er to idle. If that works we'll be totally stoked.
Since this car is being built primarily for autocross I think I'm going to stick with the top mount. At some point I'll probably get a bigger top mount and one of those baby eater hood scoops. For now I'll be happy to just get 'er running with no problems.
