Friendly reminder:

GC8 = JDM EJ20T Impreza (93-01)
GM6 = USDM 2.5RS (?-01)
GF8 = same as GC8, but a wagon
GF6? = USDM Impreza wagon (?-01)
GD_ = USDM 02+ EJ20T

If anyone else can correct or elaborate, please do... I'd like to get these straight for once ...Or just flame me for being nit-picky

Close.
The G means impreza.

The C means old style sedan.
The M means old style coupe.
The F means old style wagon.
The D means new style sedan.
The G means new style wagon.

The 8 means old style EJ20T.
The A means new style EJ20T.
The B means new style EJ25T.
The 6 means 2.5 RS.
The 4 means 2.2.
The 2 means 1.8.

So he has a GM6. And my car is a GD6. And the WRX is a GDA. And the STi is a GDB. And etc.

Just a friendly reminder, to prevent injuries to fellow i-clubbers, you might want to disconnect the battery when doing anything with the airbag . . .

but it's implied whenever "gc8" is said, they mean a 98-01 rs body style

Who is they? So by your definition, a real GC8 isn't a 'GC8'? Not trying to start a war here, just making sure people are informed...

I guess you can use the term as you like, but the only way I see to avoid confusion (as people have different definitions) would be to just use the right terms in the first place. [BTW, thanks for the clarification crashmaxx]. GC8-specific parts might fit your car, but that doesn't make it a GC8

[/hijack]

...looks like your project is coming along nicely, what next on your mod list?

Chaste auto makes carbon fiber door panels. and trunk panel covers for when you take the rear seats out Check them out they're the trickest thing Ive seen come out of a US tuner. chasteauto.com. Itll propbly be a cheaper less blingy option than re-upholstering

You should always use the factory lugnuts with stock wheels and aftermarket lugnuts for aftermarket wheels. They have different chamfer angles.
