well, i got the 2.5" turboback done lastnight, didnt leave the shop till midnight. sounds nice when driving. now i need to get it inspected and figure out why it idles at 2.2k and also misfires. i think the misfire might be a spark plug that wont thread in properly and i am clueless about the idle, the adjustment screw made no difference, at least not he one i turned. i think the next step will be to get a new td04 and have that and an intercooler installed. i might be getting an intercooler from a starion that ill set up to fit in ront on this car, but that will have to wait a little while till i can get things streight again.


ill try to get pics tomarrow if i can get out to take em, i might be busy trying to fix the trunk, the "nerf" spoiler almost came off on the highway so i ripped it off and now have the old adhesive to remove. after thats all said and done, i am going to start the car's slow fade to black, the trunk will be the largest part ive painted sofar... that reminds me, i need to find something i can put on the inside of the trunk to insulate it cause i might be using the car as a camper in the near future and i dont want too much heat escaping through the trunk when i fold down the seats. ill figure out something and try for some new pics tomarrow.

 

well, after driving the car around for a while, i have sprung yet another coolant leak, this one from the radiator. it looses coolant fast enough to over heat within 10 miles. i thin ill try to get another old school suby to start this project over. i am going for a brat, im going to drive it around stock or slightly modded till i can save enough to do the build up properly. my only concern is that i wont be able to find anyone that will take just the shell of the rx and leave me with the tranny and rear diff, both of which i really want to keep for the next car.i would also need the suspension components from another rx or gl-10 sedan. im just hoping that i can get some money from the car that i can put towards getting the brat im after right now. then ill be lucky to find another rear lsd and matching tranny to put in.

ill update once i figure out whats going to happen.

Brats are cool! The only thing better would be an XT. Plus, those are fuel injected which would make some things a lot easier with the mods you're gonna do.

 

about that, i am going to do all th same things and use the ea82t that i took outta the rx before x-mas. im going to keep the brat engine clost to stock and save money for the conversion. the first thing ill do is swap in a 5 spd d/r tranny and limited slip rear that i should be getting with the brat i want. then after that, i will do the suspension from a gl-10 or rx, granted ill have to modify the strut mounts in the rear to get it to sit right and not get lifted. i will kina be going against the grain with this by not lifting it. but this time i think ill do things right, not try to rust em and do a half-assed job of it. im waiting on a response from the guy that showed interest in buying the rx off of me, once that goes through, ill be set to get a brat. the only thing really holding me back is that i dont have room for it yet, thats why i gotta get rid of the rx.

well, if anyone here is interested, the rx is still for sale, i really wnat it gone asap so that i can get the brat i want and start looking into gettin the engine redone.

i am asking $900 for it and thats with the parts it needs to be right. i will take any easonable offers, i am willing to negotiate on the price. i know some one has got ot want it.


if i do sell it, i will be contiueuing the project with te brat i want, its just going to take a little while longer to get to completiion.

ive only been to the rockville meets once, that was last year around the beginning of feb.

i would love to get ahold of a td04 in good condition, ows yours? how much you want for it. i might not have the cash for it now, but maybe we could work something out.

I don't mean to steal a sale away from you zombiedog but if you (subyspecialist) are still lookin' around for a decent td04 I've got one that's got roughly 30,000 miles on it..if you're interested shoot me a pm or email. I haven't advertised this turbo yet because I thought that maybe I aught to hang on to it but now I see how dumb that is because it's literally just collecting dust.

well, once again, i have decided to keep the car. i was set on getting a brat, but i think ill let that go for a while. my next challenge lies in getting the rx back on the road. its in need of a new radiator and a few little other things. i am hoping to get it back on the road again once i get new job. unemployment sucks.
