Been a while and a lot has changed haha! So the Hewland is in, the DCCD computers were custom programmed by the same guy that did Ken Block and Travis Pastrana's and the motor was completely rebuilt using a JDM STI 2.0-liter block.

The first official rally we entered started strong, but the boys shut it down in the Third Stage after seeing some abnormal smoke trailing them. Considering the fresh motor, they limped back to the paddock, and all it turned out to be was a fouled set of plugs.

At 00:33, you can really here the difference with the new motor and re-tune...

The guys competed in another rally on 8/13 and did pretty well, ended up finishing 9th of 50 so not too bad, we're still dialing in the new motor and getting used to how differently the car drives with the reworked engine and dogbox.

A nice action shot:

And a video that our buddy made, though a bit mundane at times, it gives you a pretty good idea of the atmosphere at a weekend amateur rally event. Have to say, the car sounds pretty good!

So I was supposed to go raise hell for two weeks in August and I missed my flight, it was ridiculously expensive to re-book so this is some of what I missed.

I just have to say how impressed I am with my friend's improved driving skills as the car has been built and rebuilt. I guess if you push it to the edge all the time, you know how far you can go before you fall off.

Also, as an aside, we built that white GR STI hill-climb car for Filip Kuba.
