To keep with my mirrors matching wheels theme, I got a custom paint made up to try and match the new wheels as close as possible.
Also decided to match the hella horn covers. Got a 2nd set that didnt work, just so I could pull the covers off. I also pulled the current ones on the car off, and reshot them bright red to match the red wheels/mirrors when I put them back on next summer.
Wet sanded and primered both sets of hella covers
Both sets got 3 coats of color and 2 coats of clear
Also wet sanded the AW mirror caps that I got. This is after two light coats of the custom purple
After all the paint and 3 coats of clear
Color came out pretty damn close to the powdercoat color. And the fact that they will be 2ish feet apart (wheels/mirrors) I dont think it will be a very noticeable difference. The special clear coat that I got was amazing and really made the paint pop!
Now just waiting for the JDM folding mirrors to come in, then I will get those working and put the purple caps on.

Got the mirrors done and installed late last week.
Used mainly this thread to go by:
http://www.scoobymods.com/showthread...nal-14017.html
There were a couple others I referenced for different options, but that was the most in depth.
Had to gut both the USDM and JDM mirrors to get the internals out (JDM)
JDM (left) USDM (right)
Originally was going to de-pin the wires from the plugs, but after only getting a couple, I got frustrated and said screw it
So I snipped the ends and had to re-solder everything together.
USDM switch (left) vs the JDM (right). Had to dremel out the plastic to make it fit, but looks clean if you take your time.
Ended up using a couple pins from the JDM harness I didnt need. Used those in the car harness and ran the 2 additional wires from each mirror to the switch. So Everything is as simple as unplugging the one plug inside the door.

Update time....
Heading up to Tahoe for 4th of July weekend, the car blow the upper radiator hose. Car got towed and dropped off at FW Motors to check everything out.
Paul installed a new upper rad hose and a coolant flush. He told me to keep an eye on it as the head gaskets might be compromised. Sure enough, they're toast.
So looks like its build time... Not sure what exact direction im going to go, ill be talking with both Paul at FW and Travis at Snail.
