According to the RavSpec vendor in an older post, the JDM and USDM 6 speeds are the same. Just figure I'd save you some shipping costs. I'm pretty sure the USDM STi drivetrain is pretty bulletproof for any kind of power you plan to make in a GC8.

JDM 6MTs have shorter (better) 5th and 6th gears, plus you can get non-DCCD which makes it much easier to swap in.

Nice lookin "L"! I've got a '98 L that we're going to swap all the '02 WRX stuff into. I would prefer an STi swap, but the WRX price was right...and happened at the right time. It's Tomato red like yours too... will have to post up some pics.
