i have an 07 wrx..
and im planning to swap an 06-07 STi intercooler in replace of my wrx's..would it change anything? performance?...bcuz it looks cool when u look at an intercooler with an STi written on it tru the scoop...and painting mine is not an option!!!!

 

of course it is bigger then the regular WRX intercooler and would give more cooling power!! u might feel little difference

 

well in that case ill sure do! but do u guys think i can get a brand new STi intercoolers...or ill just get an after market? and do i have to modify anything in orther to install it?

 

People are always selling their STI tmics. I personally had the SSAC TMIC.

To reap the better cooling benefits of a larger top mount like the sti's, you'll need to swap your wrx air diverter (thing on the underside of your hood scoop) for an sti's or aftermarket's. You shouldn't have to mod anything.

all you have to modify is you interooler y-pipe n throttle body coupler and youll be fine.

 

get an aftermarket or sti y-pipe with the sti tmic and you're good to go.

 

The new STI intercoolers do not have 'STI' on them, they are quite a bit larger than the earlier STI intercoolers, and they're all metal.
