Really sorry guys but it looks like just don't have the time and energy to deal with the buy back.
I can find out where the final destination is so you guys can buy parts if anyone is interested.
Gold mine
The engine was not burning any oil with 10w-40. Burned about 1/2 qt of 5w-30 in the 3500 mi interval. Gears all had excellent engagement. I rev matched its entire life ( learned how on a previous car). The 4/2 pot brakes are in excellent shape and have titanium shims in the from TIC (forgot to take them off). There's the SPT rear diff protector still and stop tech SS brake lines with stop tech SP pads (mostly worn though). There's a TIC brake booster brace on it. If the junk yard doesn't take em there's lightweight kosei 17x7 wheels. Anyone who's having the secondary air valve emission problem, mine was fixed with NEW OEM stuff less than a year ago. That's BOTH valves and the compressor. There's WL rear subframe lock bolts. Both front axles were rebuilt last year (hard to find wagon axles!) and the steering rack replaced.
OMG I think I'm going to cry just thinking about this.

Buy back is not going to happen. It's already taken up by the insurance.
The salvage will be sent to: Insurance Auto Auctions in Fremont
FOUND IT!!!

It's listed as "won't start". Haha... someone go get it for a bargain!!! It won't start BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS NOT CONNECTED. The car WILL start with a battery. They clearly didn't even try. When the battery was connected, I was able to unmarry the COBB AP. And the body shop ran it to move it in and out of the bay to uninstall some aftermarket parts.
SOMEONE GO GET THIS! Like said in the OP, the engine/tranny/susp/brakes/interior is in GREAT shape.

I have yet to try it out, but the 2011 WRX has a 5x100 bolt pattern with +53 offset with regular sliding brakes... so I'm hoping and expecting that it does. I post when I confirm.
