Once i got the skeleton out, i would reinforce it with some aluminum strips, maybe shaped like a # sign under the hood...in case a cat decides to jump on it and put a big dent in it.
I'd say use epoxy... But won't the steel shell be most of the weight in any case? I'd say a cheapo used CF hood would be a good bet. paint that **** and call it a day.

well i figured the skeleton is steel along with the formed hood skin. So the stamped skeleton is almost as much material (even though it has holes, the bends make up for them) so it technically should way 1/2... at least 10 lbs. I dunno.

Ill have to find a beater L hood and not be afraid to destroy it
