Testing Waters: CF Hood for GC's

Hi all.

I am thinking about letting go of my CF hood. As much as I don't want to, this hood has some problems. Anyways... make me some offers.

Problems are:

clearcoat is gone
one of the vents is falling off
screws on one side are broken and the screw studs ( I guess that is what you call them ) are stuck in the screw hole

Not sure what brand hood it is. I'll post pics later.

TIA.

It's probably a vis, they're more or less the only company that sells CF hood for gc8. They go for about 400-600 usually brand new.

I would really like to keep it. I just need to get one bad bolt out and reclear the hood, and I think it'll be more or less new. I would be looking for an offer that would pay most of a good condition CF hood off.

I checked his hood out and it is NOT an authentic ViS hood or C-wings. It is a ViS replica. and ViS is NOT the only one that makes cf hoods for our cars.

Yeah. The hood is in pretty crappy shape right now. Going to see if I can get some of its luster back.

although kev's hood might be lighter than a ViS hood since it has less material than a real ViS hood. I think it would still be worth it for the weight savings. My Seibon weighed about 20lbs while the stock is around 38lbs or so my bathroom scale says. Bump for a fellow CF hoodie

I probably wouldn't. The only reason I would be interesting in selling it would be because the clearcoat is gone and to have someone reclear it would be kind of expensive. Several members have offered to help me refinish it, so that's what I'll probably be doing.

The hood will still be there. Just with a layer of clearcoat over it so it'll shine.

will this fit a 04 STi? trade maybe plus cash depending on the condition of your hood/////////
