I built a Hackint0sh using the ECS 945GCT-M(v3) + Intel C2D E4500($129@Fry's)mobo/cpu combo, 4GB RAM($99), trendnet gigE nic($10), firewire card($20), Rosewill RC-211 SATA controller($20), 5x500GB Seagate drives($500), old 120GB IDE drive for OS drive, and a $5 USB sound card from ebay.
Oh and $100 on a Leopard 10.5.0 DVD from apple.
Followed These Instructions and have a fully functionional Mac.
When 10.5.3 came out I connected the OS drive to a USB dongle again, ran the update and post-patch script(deletes several files like the DSMOS.kext).
Anyways....
Windows has plenty of issues but does have it's place. MacOS is much more user friendly IMHO and also has its place. Apple is doing a lot of work to get developers writing and porting apps to OSX. Look at the iphone SDK for example and Xcode. That is an amazing developer environment.

Maybe I just need some basic Mac training, but to me it's a PITT to find programs, and how do I get a window to maximize? Or is the Mac way not to use maximized windows?
