I looked into it a few months ago (for the first gen core duo MacBooks) and they were going for $500-$600 on ebay i think. The MacBook line is supposed to be undergoing a design overhaul though, so you should wait til then. As of now though my MacBook has stayed in better physical condition and has had no main OS problems like both of my previous windows laptops. I'll definitely be a long-term apple customer

Yeah, same here, I switched to Apple in 2002 and its been great (all my friends called me stupid and thought I was crazy). I would never buy a PC again as a main computer, especially since you can run both Windows and OSX on a Mac.

Now, whenever people come over and see my old G5 PowerMac, they say "Wow, nice computer"

I think that's quite an interesting statement. Never buying a PC again yet loading the Apple up with Windows? Come on now You'll still go back to Windows one way or another.

windows OS =/= windows hardware or a pc

I use windows for my MP3 player, diabetes management software, and datalogging with the APv2 dongle.

OK, I will rephrase. I would never choose to buy a windows only computer.
